Image of Africa is a complete hair braiding and weave salon located in Los Angeles, CA on the famed Crenshaw Boulevard, just seconds from Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Mall. Image of Africa has been in business since 1991. Khady Badiane came to Los Angeles determined to make a new life for herself. Born in Dakar, Senegal, West of the African continent with a population of roughly eight million, Khady began braiding at the age of 13 and soon owned and operated a braiding salon in Dakar. She moved to Los Angeles to make a better life for herself and her siblings. Two months after being in Los Angeles, speaking only French, Khady opened her first shop, Image of Africa where she made and sold African arts, clothes and other accessories. She feels that it is her duty to share the creative African techniques of braiding with African Americans, cosmetologists and braiders. She has been in business for a long time because of her ability to understand the needs of her clients. She thrives on providing excellent service, professionalism, quality work, customer satisfaction and swiftness all at an affordable price.
